Crown Compensation Rolls
Complete service of hydro-dynamic and hydro-static, shoe type CC rolls (Beloit ®) and single zone swimming rolls (Farrell®, Küsters®) and CC rolls of any manufacturer.
Basic rebuild of CC rolls includes:
- Initial inspection and flow testing.
- Disassembly and complete inspection of all bearing and head fits, internal seals, tubing, piping, and brackets.
- Issue detailed inspection report with any repair recommendations.
- Replace all seals / springs with supplier or customer provided parts (as necessary and with approval).
- Assemble and Test.
Additional services of CC rolls include:
- Precision shell honing.
- Dynamic pressure / flow testing.
Plain Rolls
Stowe Woodward provides a complete range of services for all working nip rolls and non-working web carrying rolls and spools. Visual bearing and journal inspections are included with all recovers. Also available for an additional fee are complete bearing and journal inspections which include the following:
Housings
- Match mark all parts prior to disassembly.
- I.D. checked for dimensions and shape.
- Seals inspected for need of replacement.
- Inspected for proper lubrication of bearing.
- Grit blasted to remove scale and rust (tape machined surfaces).
- Spray paint complete housing with primer and epoxy paint.
- Assembled with stainless steel fasteners.
- All grease fittings replaced.
Bearings
- All bearings thoroughly cleaned.
- Inspected for wear, corrosion, pitting or other defects and documented.
- Bearing manufacturer representative inspections, if available.
Journals
- All bearing fits checked (with correct sine bars if needed) in four different planes for size and shape.
- TIR of journals and shell checked.
- Contact area inspected. If suspect, checked in 8 different areas for overall average.
